Service station data collection results

As part of the NSW Government’s reform package to enhance the biofuels mandate and encourage greater competition in the fuel market, NSW Fair Trading collected data from service stations across NSW.

The request for information was issued on 6 May 2016 and service station operators were required to provide the data by 30 June 2016.

The data was self-reported by service station operators and submitted to NSW Fair Trading via an online survey, while bulk data from chains of service stations was provided by spreadsheet. The data was for the fourth quarter of 2015 (4Q2015) and the first quarter of 2016 (1Q2016).

Data was received in relation to 1,963 service stations and 12 fuel types.

The Service station data collection results (PDF size: 396kb) report shows petrol and diesel fuel sales data for 4Q2015 and 1Q2016, providing a snapshot of the industry.
