Security of payment

Security of payment legislation establishes rights for parties seeking payment for work done on plant and materials they have supplied in construction.

The Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 NSW represents an ongoing commitment by the NSW Government to maintain the stability and efficiency of the construction industry.

The Act allows for prompt adjudication of disputes over progress payments and provides for a fairer and quicker payment system for all parties in the industry.
